Introducing the Working People’s Press

The Working People’s Press is a newly formed newspaper that gives a voice to workers without fear of being retaliated against by our bosses for telling the truth about our workplaces. It fills the much-needed role of giving the working class of Charlotte a newspaper that tells our stories, instead of those of our employers and those in power. As workers ourselves, we aren’t concerned with being “objective” toward company leadership; nor can we be swayed by any amount of capital. Our interests and future are directly at stake.

The Working People’s Press is made up of workers and is not attached to any non-profit organization or subservient to a political party. We are not serving the interests of anyone other than the workers of Charlotte. We collect our stories primarily from our workplaces and the frontlines of labor organizing in Charlotte. We seek to be a voice for all workers in Charlotte and invite you to send in your submissions.

The Working People’s Press is the official newspaper of the Working People’s Association of Charlotte, an organization of local working-class individuals looking to take power from the ruling class and put it back into the hands of workers – the very people who keep Charlotte running.
